What Does 2030 look like for the Global Development Community?
Building a development organisation’s strategic plan on an evolving and uncertain world stage is a challenge. The intersecting and complex nature of global forces that impact development creates a daunting prospect for conducting a comprehensive and practical analysis. However, SRI Executive has done just that in consultation with our clients; leading national and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), international organisations (IOs), and multilateral institutions. We have undertaken multiple trends analyses as part of our collaborative exploration of our clients’ operational landscapes and across the global development sector.
The megatrends represented here are the most pressing issues and opportunities for development from 2030 to 2050. We are highlighting this period, after the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) milestone, as a critical point for development. Considering the impact of these trends allows us to challenge ingrained assumptions about the global operating environment and the theories of change that rest upon them. Organisations can use these trends to think ahead about how to mitigate risk and leverage opportunities.
