Supporting the creation of a new Global Delivery Team

The challenge – implementing a recruitment process to hire seven senior roles
In March 2019, the Foundation created a new team within their Global Development Division called Global Delivery. This involved the merger of three teams—Integrated Delivery, Vaccine Delivery, and Strategy, Data & Analytics. The goal of this merger was to increase the Foundation's impact in delivering effective tools and products to people who need them most, and to strengthen the effectiveness of the health systems that deliver them.
SRI Executive was tasked with designing and implementing a recruitment process for the following seven roles:
- Director, Health Systems
- Senior Program Officer
- Officer, Strategy
- Senior Program Officer, Insights
- Associate Program Officer, Insights
- Deputy Director, Insights
- Associate Strategy Officer
Our strategy – defining and identifying right-fit candidates
SRI Executive had previously supported the Foundation in numerous searches across its regions and programmatic areas; conducted market intelligence reviews; and planned capacity building initiatives for many of the Foundation’s country offices. Therefore, we were delighted to assist in what was a major restructuring of the Foundation's head office in Seattle.
Most of the positions were newly created – a first for the Foundation, so it was important for SRI Executive to go on an iterative journey with the Foundation's internal clients. This meant providing convincing evidence, market intelligence and a wide variety of candidate profiles to help them further define the types of individuals and experience they were seeking.
Results – each position filled with exceptional candidates
Filling this number of roles required significant organisation and co-ordination. SRI Executive successfully filled each position with an exceptional candidate who had the right technical expertise, but who was also the right fit for the Foundation. We believe that the key to this success was not only its execution, but the building of relationships with existing Foundation staff who participated in the hiring process. We continue to work closely with the Foundation on an ongoing basis.
